Coach Chant grew up in Farmington, where he was a four year varsity player and served as a team captain 2x.  Kevin is a dedicated girls basketball coach with over 15 years of experience in coaching and training young athletes. His passion for the game and commitment to player development have been the driving forces behind his successful coaching career.

Kevin started his coaching career with the Edina Travel Basketball Association, where he guided various teams to notable state tournament finishes, including 2nd, 3rd, and 5th place.  His impressive track record of relationship building, player development, and team success led to his selection as the JV Head Coach and Varsity Assistant for the Edina Hornets.

After 14 successful years in Edina, Kevin became the Varsity Head Coach for Big Lake Hornets.  In one season, Kevin turned around the program catapulting it from one win to an impressive 13 victories.  His leadership and dedication to fostering a positive team culture have earned him the respect of players, parents, and fellow coaches alike.

Mitch has a strong background in both playing and coaching basketball.  He grew up and played varsity basketball at St. Michael.  Mitch graduated from the University of Minnesota, he gained valuable experience training alongside top-level athletes and coaches as a practice player for the Minnesota Gophers Women’s Basketball Team.  

Mitch started his coaching career in AAU for Minnesota Rush coaching both boys and girls, helping to develop players’ skills and competitive spirit.  Additionally he has served as a Varsity Assistant Coach for Big Lake Hornets where he was instrumental in guiding and mentoring players, while emphasizing teamwork and effort. 

Brooke is a former Bloomington Jefferson player and captain. Brooke was a five year varsity player and was an elite sharp shooter.  Brooke also played AAU for North Tartan, Metro Stars, and MN Fury.   At the University of Missouri, Brooke took on leadership roles as both President and Captain of the club basketball team, showcasing her commitment to the sport and her teammates.  

Brooke has a passion for giving back to her alma mater, sharing her love for the game, and elevating women’s basketball! She began her coaching career in 2023 as an assistant coach for Jefferson’s B-Squad and JV girls basketball teams, where she aims to inspire and elevate young athletes.

Kaiya joined the Jefferson coaching staff in 2022.  Kaiya was previously the Varsity and JV assistant for St. Louis Park Girls Program and started her coaching career in Middleton, WI.  Beyond coaching Kaiya trains athletes and has served as a camp coach for Whitehall, University of MN Duluth, Lakeville North, and Bloomington Jefferson.

Kaiya was a five year varsity player for Lakeville North and was a multi-sport athlete.  She went on to play four years at University of MN Duluth, where she was team captain her senior year and on the Conference All Defensive Team 2x for the NSIC.  

Outside of basketball, Kaiya is an outpatient Physical Therapist and currently works at Hennepin Healthcare.   She continues her own sports adventures as an adult playing Australian rules football at the local and national levels.  

Allison grew up in Blaine where she was a four year varsity player and was All-State Honorable Mention in 2016.  Beyond basketball Allison played lacrosse, softball, and ran track. After high school she went on and played basketball in college at University of Jamestown in North Dakota and graduated in 2020 with B.S. in Exercise Science. 

Allison started coaching basketball while in college and coached the Jamestown Girls Basketball 6th grade, MYAS MN Hustle, and a 7th grade boys travel team in River Falls.  Allison also has experience as a personal trainer and skill development for younger age groups.  

KJ is an experienced basketball coach with a deep passion for developing players both on and off the court. KJ played basketball at Benilde St. Margaret’s High School before continuing her career at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF). KJ began coaching youth basketball in Hudson, followed by leading AAU Teams for multiple programs.  KJ also has experience at the high school level as an assistant coach to Kevin Chant in Big Lake.  

Eric is excited to join the Bloomington Jefferson Girls Basketball staff as an assistant coach, as well as serving as the AAU and College Coordinator.  He has been involved with girls basketball since 2011 as a board member for Edina Basketball and in various coaching roles that include youth, travel and high school coaching.  Eric has two daughters who he has helped coach at various levels.  His oldest daughter currently plays for Colorado College, while his youngest daughter plays for Edina.   

Along with his coaching experience Eric has been involved in a variety of club and AAU programs ranging from youth to 17U.  In his role as AAU and College Coordinator, Eric will assist and educate families around helping girls find the right fit to play during off seasons and after high school.
